His passions included fishing and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, pursuits that brought him joy. In his personal life, Raymond was known for his gentle demeanor and deeply loving his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Raeshelle Lumley and her husband Kevin, and Melody Beard and her husband Michael. Raymond's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Johnny, Paeshence, Zane, Silas, and Shawn. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Zolla Wright and her husband Mike.

Raymond is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jody Smith, who he cherished dearly, alongside his parents Ansel and Sylvia, his brother Samuel Smith, and his sisters Sandra Ballew and Myrna Padley.

A viewing for Raymond will be held on February 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Potts Chapel, located at 122 S Pennsylvania Ave, Independence, KS 67301.
