Ray Likins

Ray F. Likins, 79, of Cherryvale died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Via Christy St. Francis Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale with Pastor Tom Reazin of the Mound Valley Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dennis, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, of Cherryvale. Visitation hours will be Monday, December 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Hill Community Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale, Kansas. Ray was born January 29, 1933 in Parsons, Kansas the son of Clifford Erwin and Julia Opal Atherton Likins. He attended and graduated from the Labette County Community High School in Altamont, Kansas. He lived in the Rural Dennis area for 42 years. Ray was a self employed farmer from 1951 until his retirement in 1970. Survivors include two sisters, LaDonna Fern Likins Brothers of Cherryvale, Ks., and Margie Ellen Likins Prater of Owasso, Ok. and one Brother, Glen Arlan Likins of Florida.
