Randy Hudson

Randy Walton Hudson, age 75 of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 23, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Randy was born in Independence, Kansas to Russell and Maxine (Overfield) Hudson on October 24, 1947.

Randy grew up in Independence, graduated from Independence High School in 1965, and attended Independence Community College.

On March 12, 1981 Randy married Teresa Garrett and together they enjoyed 42 years of marriage.

He retired in 1998 after a lifelong career with Williams Pipeline. He worked in numerous capacities starting in field work, then dispatch and scheduling departments.

Randy loved to crappie fish, deer hunt and was an avid golfer. He rarely missed watching Jeopardy on TV every day and cheered for the KC Chiefs and KC Royals.

Survivors include wife Teresa, daughter Michelle Bish (Bob), grandchildren, Preston Roper (Brittney), Gabriel Rakes (Lauren), Rachel Rakes, his great grandchildren, Phoenix Roper, Hazel Roper, Azlynn Rakes and Adalee Rakes, sister Gayle Holum (Butch), brother-in-law Fred Gress, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vicki Gress and nephew Christopher Gress.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Potts Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held graveside at Harrisonville Cemetery at Independence (Bolton), KS on January 27 at 11 am with Pastor Dick Drumeller of Crystalbrook Church officiating.
