Randall Etter, age 87, of Caney, Kansas died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Sunnyside Cemetery with the Pastor Jim Crain of the Calvary Apostolic Church officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Randall was born February 28, 1924 in Copan, Oklahoma to Samuel H. and Hattie Higley Etter. He grew up in Copan, Oklahoma and graduated from the Copan High School in 1941. On April 8, 1948 Randall entered the United States Air Force and served until his honorable discharge on April 7, 1952. On October 5, 1946 Randall married Betty Price in Caney, Kansas where they made their home. Randall worked for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for 33 years as a Lab Technician. Randall was a volunteer fireman in Caney, Kansas for 33 years and coached little league baseball for many years. Randall was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church. Survivors include his wife Betty of the home two sons Ronnie Etter of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and David Etter of Skiatook, Oklahoma two daughters Cheryl Thompson of Tyro, Kansas and Debra Burris of Allen, Kansas 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
