Ralph M. Hugo, 67, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 17, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale with private family services held at a later date. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Alumni Scholarship Fund and they may be left at Potts Chapel. Ralph Michael Hugo was born December 22, 1944 in Los Angeles, California the son of Eugene Bruce Hugo and Hilda Jane Royer Hugo. He grew up in Cherryvale and lived in Cherryvale his entire life graduating from Cherryvale High School in 1962. Ralph enlisted with the United States Army in 1968 serving during the Vietnam Era and was discharged in 1971 attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. On May 7, 1965 he was united in marriage to Connie Clemensen and they later divorced. After many years of being separated they reunited with each other and made their home in Cherryvale. He worked for Emerson Electric as a Mechanical Engineer for over 20 years in Independence. Survivors include Connie Jewett of the home two sons, Mick Hugo of Cherryvale, Kansas, Aaron Hugo of Kansas City, Missouri one brother Bruce Hugo of Kansas City, Missouri two sisters, Jean Ann Beach, Ozawkie, Kansas, Shannon Waters of Kansas City, Missouri, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
