Phyllis Jean Songer, age 84 born in Parsons, Kansas February 27, 1928 the last of five children of Douglas W. and Helen Beasley. Surviving Brothers are Franklin Beasley of Midland, Texas, and Robert R. Beasley of Lubbock, Texas, Deceased brother Warner D. Beasley of Newkirk, Oklahoma and deceased sister Dorothy B. Suhm of Seattle, Washington. She was five Children surviving Diane E. Dill Smith of Bronson, Kansas John Dill of Indpendence, Kansas, Mark Dill of Independence, Kansas, Steve Songer of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Don Songer of Neodesha, Kansas eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Phyllis went to a one room school in Parsons, Kansas, Sunnyside Elementary school in Wichita, Kansas, Roosevelt Jr. High school in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Ponca City Oklahoma High School at the age of 17 in 1945. At the age of 18 she was secretary to the President of Conoco Oil Company in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She married Jack Dill in Ponca City. They were in the Lumber Business, owned operated the Redi Mix Plant in Independence, Kansas. The owned and operated a self service laundry in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Phyllis worked and was office manager of Star Mill until her rretirement. Mr Dill preceded her in death in 1977. Phyllis married Lee Songer in 1981 they owned and operated Songer Retail Liquor in Caney, Kansas. Mr. Songer was a retiree from Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Phyllis was a very hard working person in her life. She adopted her Mother religion and was a devoted Christian science and raised her family this way. Phyllis loved animals especially her precious dog Ginger she left behind. Phyllis managed as a homemaker and a skillful devoted employee and raising three adopted children was her most cherished accomplishment. The family would like to thank Arrowood of Humbolt, Kansas for the love and care they showed Mother. They were like family and Southern care Hospice. She will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.
