Philip D. Osburn, 81, of Elk City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Medicalodges in Independence. Philip was born February 15, 1940, in Elk City, Kansas, to Philip S. and Leona (Montross) Osburn. He attended school in Elk City. On May 21, 1960, he married Karen L. Bryant in Elk City.
Philip spent his early years farming before working at Hackney & Sons for 24 years. After retiring he spent many hours mowing and gardening. Known to have his garden planted early with an over abundance of vegetables that he was happy to share. He was always a hard worker that enjoyed the outdoors, family, neighbors, watching & chatting about sports.
Philip is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karen, of the home, and his three children: Kevin Osburn and wife Julie; Toby Osburn and wife Angie; Kathy Woods and husband Mark. He is also survived by grandchildren: Gage Osburn, Abigail Osburn, Ava Osburn, Brooklyn Patterson, Shylee Beardslee, Olivia Tate, Keegan Osburn, Ivy Osburn, Tommy Woods and Kyle Woods. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Norman Osburn and three sisters, Anna Hull, Joyce Ledermann and Phyllis Hayes.
Graveside services under the direction of Potts Funeral Home are Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, KS.
