Philip Andrew Hindle (Phil), of Independence, KS, a pillar of strength, integrity, and selflessness, bid farewell to this world at the age of 75, on December 18th, 2023. He left behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Phil was born to Mary Lillian and William David Hindle in Westerly, Rhode Island. He met Stephanie in San Diego, CA where they fell in love and were married in 1976. He retired from Seal-Tite after more than 36 years of service. A man of unwavering integrity, Phil exemplified the virtues of hard work, dedication, and boundless generosity. He was awarded an honorary lifetime membership in the Sons of the American Legion for all outstanding service. His commitment to helping others knew no bounds; he was a beacon of support to everyone, offering his wisdom, kindness, and assistance, never seeking recognition or reward in return.
Phil was preceded in death by his father William and brother David Hindle. He was survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie; three cherished daughters, Mary (Josh) Christie, Samantha (Steven) Baker, & Elizabeth (Bobby) Scherm; grandchildren, Amara, Trinity, Trey, Nick, and Brian; mother, Mary Zielinski; brothers, Donald (Jan) Hindle, William (JoAnn) Hindle; sisters, Sally (John) Bergsten, Darlene Porter, and MaryAnn (Ron) Marshall, close niece, Cherilyn; and many extended family members whom he held dear. Though he may have departed this world, his spirit and legacy will endure, a reminder of the powerful impact one extraordinary man can make.
Funeral services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence, KS on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 at 1 pm with a celebration of life to follow at the Independence American Legion, Post 139.
