Pat Hassig

Pat R. Hassig, 82, of Elk City, Kansas went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
Pat was born May 20, 1934 in independence, Kansas the daughter of John and Vera (Barker) Stanfill. She lived in Independence until she was nine and then the family moved to Durango, Colorado. She attended and graduated in 1952 from the Durango School System while attending school she was a Cheerleader.
In 1952 Pat was united in marriage to Jerry Tanner in Durango, Colorado and he preceded her in death in January 1972.
On July 28, 1983 Pat was united in marriage to Jack Hassig in Rico Colorado the couple made their home in Colorado and moved to Elk City, Kansas in September 2003. In February 2006 Jack preceded Pat in death.
Pat worked for Don R. Moreland CPA as a bookkeeper for twenty five years she retired in 2003.
She belong to the United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women, Coterie, Library volunteer, Bible study group and Gingham Aprons.
The family has suggested memorial to the United Methodist Church Elk City and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel, Independence
Survivors include two sons C. Lynn Tanner and wife Kathy of Ruidoso, NM and Dale Tanner and wife Nancy of Elk City, KS. Two brothers James W. Stanfill and wife Julia of Los Osos, CA. and Robert J. Stanfill of Spokane WA, and seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hassig her parents and two sons Robert T. Tanner and Jerold M. Tanner.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p. m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Elk City, Kansas with the Reverend Terry Hatfield officiating.
Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Green Mount Cemetery in Durango, Colorado.
