Orville Plummer

Orville Dean Plummer age 62, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale United Methodist Church or the First Southern Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Dean was born June 9, 1947 in Independence, Kansas to Carl Eugene and Neva Blendina Bryant Plummer. He graduated from the Altamont High School and also attended Pittsburg State University. Dean entered the United States Navy on September 8, 1965 and served until his honorable discharge on September 8, 1969. Dean married Nila McDaniel and the couple later
orced. On October 18, 1977 Dean married Mary Mendoza Forman in Reno, Nevada. The couple made their home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Dean was self employed in sales and service of appliances in Cherryvale, Kansas for over 39 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas. Survivors include wife Mary of the home; his mother Neva Plummer of Cherryvale, Kansas; one son Octavio Plummer of Cherryvale, Kansas; one daughter Theresa Cassidy of Scammon, Kansas; step son William Forman of Cherryvale, Kansas; step daughter Jessie Long of Cherryvale, Kansas; three sisters Kay Daughterty of Andover, Kansas, Diana McWhirt of Pittsburg, Kansas and Judy McDowell of Derby, Kansas; two brothers Clifford Plummer and Jim Plummer both of Cherryvale, Kansas; three grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister Sharon Gruver and one brother Carl Plummer Jr.
