Orville David Hunzeker, age 79, of Independence, Kansas died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas with no services planned at this time. Orville was born June 18, 1932 in Joplin, Missouri. He grew up in Joplin, Missouri and graduated from the Joplin High School. In 1961 Orville started installing elevators which he did for 30 years before retiring in 1991. Orville also was a trucker for over 60 years known as the big O and was a member of the Million Mile Club. Orville was also the representative for the Elevator Union in the Shriners and the Masonic Lodge. Orville served as the city Judge in Goodard. On November 8, 1981 Orville married Erlene Matthews in Sedan, Kansas. The couple made their home in rural Independence, Kansas. Survivors include his wife Erlene of the home three step children Garry Wilson of Olpie, Kansas, Beverly Vanderpool and Vicky Wilson both of El Dorado, Kansas one brother Gary Case of Gentry, Arkansas one sister Dorothy Calicott of Arlington, Texas 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
