Orline Elfreda Kindt, 98, beloved Mother, was called to her heavenly home late in the evening on August 6, 2020, in Houston, TX.. She entered this world on June 9, 1922 in Bancroft, NE, born to Peter and Edna Miller. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on July 9, 1922 at Zion Lutheran Church, Bancroft, NE.
Orline grew up in rural Bancroft on the family farm as the third oldest of eight children. She attended Zion Lutheran Church and School in Bancroft. She was an active member of the church and enjoyed singing in the choir. After her schooling, Orline worked in Bancroft in different jobs including helping Dr. Hughes and doing interior house painting. She also helped her father farm when her brothers were called into service.
In November 1955, Orline went to Tucson, AZ to help a childhood friend. In Tucson, she met Dale Kindt, who was stationed at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. They married six months later on May 18, 1956 at Faith Lutheran Church in Tucson. Following Dale's honorable discharge from the Air Force the family lived in Kansas and Oklahoma where Orline was a stay at home mom to their three children. In 1970 the family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma where Orline was employed by the Ardmore School System until her retirement in September 1992. While living in Ardmore, the family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church where Orline taught Sunday School and was a member of the Alter Guild. In November 2009, Dale and Orline moved to Houston, TX where they were members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Orline enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She loved spending time with family and will always be remembered for her sense of humor and strong Christian faith.
Orline is preceded in death by her husband Dale; parents Peter and Edna; sisters Viola and Lorna; and brothers Delvin, Harlan and Don
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Bernice Miller, West Point, NE; brother Lloyd Miller and wife Leora, Crossville, TN; her children, Lynwood Kindt and wife Sandra of Brenham, TX; Kevin Kindt and wife Karie of Ardmore, OK; Kaylene Kindt, Houston, TX; grandchildren Jeremiah Kindt and wife Jessica of Wilson, OK; Christina Moore and husband Mitchell of Houston, TX, nine great grandchildren and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Silverado Memory Care of Hermann Park and Sugarland and Silverado Hospice, for their care and friendship these past eight years. Special thanks to Wendy Rodriguez and Hailea Whitlock for the unwavering support and companionship they provided Orline during these last few weeks. Through it all, Orline's faith was strong and her beautiful soul was alive and well - singing hymns as she prepared to meet her Savior. She has now joined the heavenly choir and is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A private family service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 18th, at Zion Lutheran Church, Independence, KS. Burial will follow at Mt Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Independence, KS. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 1624 Harris Street, Ardmore, OK 73401.
