Opal Williams

Opal Jean Williams, 80, of Independence, Kansas died Monday October 12, 2013 at the Wesley Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Pleas Temple Church of God in Christ with the Elder Charles E. Barker Sr. officiating.
Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Opal was born July 12, 1933 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Oreatha Thompson Brown. She grew up in Independence and attended the Independence School System.

Opal worked in the House Keeping Department from which she retired at Mercy Hospital in Independence.

Survivors include one daughter Shirl J. Williams of Eden North Carolina, three brothers Orville Brown of Parson, Ks., Fred Brown Jr. of Wichita, Ks., and Wayne Brown of Muskgee, Okla., two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
