Opal Marie Foster, age 93, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at her home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Opal was born July 26, 1916 in Thayer, Kansas to Lewis and Amanda M. Maxwell Klauman. She grew up in the Thayer, Kansas area and attended rural Earlton grade school and graduated from the Thayer High School. Opal also received her State Teaching Certificate in Erie, Kansas. On February 28, 1939 Opal married Louis L. Foster in Miami, Oklahoma. Louis preceded her in death on December 8, 1990. Opal worked at Reliance Manufacturing, Lees Manufacturing, TriCounty and Electra. She retired after working for ACC for 10 years. She was a past member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cherryvale, Kansas and had been presently attending Mount Zion Church in Cherryvale, Kansas. Opal loved and knew Jesus as her savior. Opal liked sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and watching Kansas City Royals Baseball. She like country music, and visiting Branson, Missouri every fall. Opal was a great mother and grandmother and will be missed by all her family. Survivors include two daughters Sandra Marie Giuzio and husband Ron of Portland, Oregon Cheryl Ann Clark and husband Ron of Bartlesville, Oklahoma one son Richard Lee Foster and wife Karen of Corpus Christi, Texas Daughterinlaw Judy Foster of Cherryvale, Kansas 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren she was preceded in death by one son William Bill Foster.
