Olive Leona Larson, age 90, of Wichita, Kansas formerly of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Homestead Assisted Living in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 with the family receiving friends at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Community Christian Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Olive was born November 28, 1919 in Independence, Kansas to William Ira and Nettie Mae Johnson Starr. She grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended school in Independence. On April 4, 1962 Olive married Merle C. Larson in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1985. Olive worked as a nursing assistant at the Ouachita Memorial Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas for 15 years. Olive was a member of the Community Christian Church in Independence, Kansas. Survivors include her brother William and wife Bernadine Starr of Wichita, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
