Norman Earl Groth Sr. passed away October 1, 2020 at Gran Villa Assisted Living in Independence, Kansas, at the age of 98. A Graveside service will take place Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 10:00am at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, KS., under the direction of Potts Chapel.
Norman was born December 13, 1921 in Elk City to parents John B. Groth and Rose Anna (Pickard) Groth.
He attended local schools. His working years included several positions including Civilian Conservation Corp, OK Coffee, Kansas Milling and mechanic positions, but his real passion was farming and raising cattle.
In 1943 he married Vera Ruth Kettle. They were later divorced. He married Esther Barnett in 1947. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Survivors include, Son, Norman Groth Jr. (Sandy) of Independence, Ks. Son, Harold Groth (Linda) of Independence, Ks. Sister, Shirley McWilliams (Bob) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. 4 Grand Children, 5 Great Grand Children, and 7 Great Great Grand Children.
