Norma Melvina (Campbell) Kaiser went home to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2016 at 12:57 am at the Journey Home Hospice House in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 84.
Norma was born on July 8, 1931 in Independence, KS to Charles and Garnet (Shope) Campbell. She attended Independence Schools and graduated from Independence High School. She married Larry K. Kaiser on August 8th 1950 and after 30 years the couple later divorced.
Norma enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially holiday get-togethers. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Going to church was important to her and she enjoyed preparing many meals for fellowship dinners. She also enjoyed baking and helping friends in a catering business, was a lifetime member in the P.T.A. for several years, and helped with activities for the I. C. J. C. Booster Club. One of her favorite things was going to the tea house and Ana Mae's with her family and friends. And recently, she always looked forward to her morning visits to McDonald's for coffee and breakfast with the gang!
After raising her 6 children, Norma worked several small jobs including working in a flower shop, a laundromat, and finally retiring from Automotive Controls Corporation.
Norma is survived by her 6 children; Larry W. Kaiser and wife Nancy of Independence, KS. , Charles Kaiser and wife Valerie of Kingman, AZ., Tom Kaiser and wife Becky of Independence KS. , Susan Eaton and husband Robert of Springfield MO., Judy Lorenz and husband Duane of Bartlesville OK. , Sally Kaiser of Emporia, KS. , and 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
She is also survived by one brother, Robert Campbell of Kingman, AZ. and one sister, Garnet (Campbell) Duplois of Independence, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby brother, two sisters, and one half-sister.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm, at Pott's Funeral Home, 122 S. Penn, Independence, KS. A Private Family graveside service is to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS. Pastor H.V. Snowden of Victory Chapel, Shawnee, OK. will officiate the service. A Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
