Norma Hodges

Norma L. Hodges, 59, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday April 11, 2013 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas with Jenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery in Havana, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a. m to 7:00 p. m., on Wednesday April 7, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Havana Veterans Day Celebration Origination and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Norma was born November 28, 1953 in Southwest City, Missouri the daughter of Joe and Elvarie Blackford Bates. She grew up in Gravette Arkansas and attended the Gravette Arkansas School System. She later got her GED. In September of 1974 in Miami, Oklahoma Norma married Gene Wade and in March, 1999 he preceded her in death. On December 24, 2000 Norma married Dennis Hodges in Havana, Kansas and the couple made their home in Havana, Kansas. Dennis survives at the home in Copan, Oklahoma. Norma worked at Dana Manufacturing Company in Independence on the line for seventeen years. Survivors include her husband Dennis Hodges of Copan, Okla., three sons Terry Wade and grandchildren Tanner Wade of Gravette Ark., Jonathan, Katelyn Wade of Sycamore, Ks., Tom Wade and wife Sheryl and grandchildren Kelsa, Tosha, and Monique Wade of Elk City, Ks., Shane Wade and wife Jenny and grandchildren Samantha, Robert, Coty, Cheyenne, Jessica, Shane, Korbin, Traten Wade, Ashley, Garrett, Ethyn and Bubba Clyde of Neodesha, Ks., three daughters Cindy Wade and grandchildren Maritza, LuLuMay, Kevin Tino Wade, Neodesha, Ks., Misty Fowler and husband Jimbo and grandchildren Haylie,Malori Fowler of Independence, Ks., and Tori Hodges of Copan, Okla. And several other grandchildren. Great grandchildren Kaden, Serenity, Myra, Korbin Wade and Jaelyn Mae Wade.
