Nicholas Levi Gofourth, 16, Independence, Kansas went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2017. Friends may register from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving guest from 6:00 - 8:00 at Potts Chapel. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at The First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at the Pratt Cemetery in rural Independence, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to MADD (Mothers against Drunk Driving) and may be left with the Chapel. Nickolas was born July 31, 2000 in Joplin, Missouri to Shawn Gofourth of California and Shelly DeVore- Gofourth of Independence, Kansas. Nicholas attended school in Grove, Oklahoma, Independence, Kansas High School and Cherryvale Kansas High School his sophomore and junior year. Nick Nickypoo was a unique young man who enjoyed playing the guitar that his granddad taught him. He listened to county music and danced the two-step. He loved anything country, cowboy, hunting, fishing, welding, forging, shop class, art and going to the county to build his cabin. His dream was to someday live self-sufficient; to live off the grid in the woods. Nick enjoyed being with family and friends and playing Pool and Ping-Pong with his brothers and talking. He loved and enjoyed helping people. Nick was a ladies man, tall long-legged and charming his way into the hearts of all the girls from 1 -100 from his nieces, cousins to the seniors at the Altoona, Kansas dance. Nick thought he was a man because he could physically do anything a man could and couldn't wait to turn 18 and do what he wanted when he wanted. In the past he has worked for A-1 Tree Service Devore Storage G and W Foods Jim Schickie, and cutting and selling Firewood. He is survived by his parents, three brothers; David James (D.J) (Lacy) Gofourth, Independence, KS; James and Kenny Gofourth, both of Independence, KS; sister Sara Hudson, Hendersonville, TN; grandparents, Ken and Sandy Devore, Independence, KS, uncle Ken ( Summer) Devore, Independence, KS, aunts; Sherry Bailey, Cherryvale, KS; Christy ( Craig) House, Independence, KS; nieces and nephews , David Gofourth, Nevaeh Gofourth, Riley Gofourth, Kye Hudson, Xavier Hudson, Zander Hudson, Tyler Fiennan, Madison Fiennan, aunts and uncles Debbie ( Mike ) Gullett, Robin ( Jim ) Harner, Angie (Bob) Christensen, Sheryl (Tom) Haigh, too many cousins to count. Arrangements are entrusted with Potts Chapel.
