Neil Heisler

Roy Neil Heisler, age 70, of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas with the Reverend Jim Blocher officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Neil was born October 11, 1939 in Tallassee, Alabama to Roy and Daughtry Heisler. He grew up in Tallassee, Alabama and graduated from the Tallassee High School. On December 9, 1989 Neil married Genny L. Cooper in Independence, Kansas where they made their home. Neil worked for DANA for 31 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Independence Country Club. Survivors include his wife Genny Heisler of Independence, Kansas; one son Richard Heisler of Colorado; one daughter Chris Mangan of Independence, Kansas; his mother Daughtry of Smiths, Alabama; two sisters Tijo Shirley of Alabama and Sandra Goss of Smiths, Alabama.
