Neal Shepard

Neal Shepard, 81, of rural Parsons, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Johns Medical Center in Joplin , Missouri. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Richard Shouse, officiating. Friends may register from 10A.M. until 5 P.M. Friday at Potts Chapel. The family may be contacted at 1797 24000 Road, Parsons, KS. Neal Anderson Shepard was born January 11, 1929 at Morehead, Kansas the son of Harry Shepard and Emma Adams Shepard. He grew up and attended school in Cherryvale graduating in 1947. Following his schooling he was in the Air Force for 6 years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was united in marriage to Daleen Koehn in 1952 at Merced, California and they divorced in 1977. He was united in marriage to Mary Quall in 1997 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee and she survives at the home. Neal worked for many years for Brown Oil Tire in Parsons as a Farm Tire technician until he retired in 1974. Survivors include: wife, Mary of the home, 3 sons, Gary Shepard of Parsons, Kansas, Rodney Shepard of Merced, California, Jeffery Grace Shepard of Phoenix , Arizona, 3 daughters, Nealette Ron Little of Parsons, Kansas, Shirley Thomas of Merced, California, Lisa Jaymes Cunningham of Merced, California, 3 brothers, Robert Virginia Shepard of Cherryvale, Kansas, Archie Carol Shepard of Dennis, Kansas, Joe Jean Shepard Cherryvale, Kansas, 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1sister, 2 half sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 half brother.
