Naomi E. White, age 100, of Caney, Kansas died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Caney, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Friends may also sign online guest book at www.pottsfuneralhome.com. The family has suggested memorials to the Gideons Bible and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Naomi was born February 16, 1911 in Niotaze, Kansas to James Edgar and Sarah Kirkendall Rogers. On October 1, 1928 Naomi married Everitt C. White in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in South Dakota from 1929 to 1936 before moving to Montgomery County. Everitt preceded her in death on October 3, 1993. Naomi worked for Electra in Independence, Kansas for eight years and also at the Caney Hospital for 5 years as a nurses aide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and embroiding. Survivors include three children Joyce E. Mann of San Antonio, Texas Richard and wife Shirley White of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Ron and wife Kathy White of Denver, Colorado two halfbrothers John and wife Margie Rogers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tom and wife Mary Rogers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma one halfsister Gloria Faith Whisler and husband Carl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, two halfbrothers, and one halfsister.
