Nadine Lois Elliot, 96, passed away at Guest Home Estates in Caney surrounded by her family. Nadine was born March 7, 1923 in Independence, Kansas to Carl and Flava (Blankenship) Elliott. She graduated from high school in Independence.
Nadine worked at Braden Steel in Tulsa, OK as a secretary for many years. She also taught ballroom dancing at the Arthur Murray Studio in Tulsa, OK. In her later years, she was a waitress and caregiver for her parents. She enjoyed her many years as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital. Nadine loved to travel, and she was always eager to learn. She had such a love for all animals and always got attached to them. She truly loved all of her nieces and nephews and always enjoyed celebrating their birthdays and all holidays with them. She was very much a part of their lives.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edwin Elliott and sister, Betty Garr.
She is survived by nieces, Janie Crowe (Joey) of Caney, Connie Brake (Terry) of Caney, Judy Jones of Arizona, nephews, Terry Garr (Maci) of Caney, John Garr (Charlene) of Independence, and a special cousin, Mona Kay Gasaway of Wichita. She had many great nieces and nephews. She loved her fur baby companion, Charlie.
Funeral Services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Tuesday, December 17th at 1:00 PM with interment immediately following at Mount Hope Cemetery.
