Kendall Robertson,80, of Tyro died Sunday evening, August 12, 2012, at his home in Tyro, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday August 17, 2012 at the Tyro Christian Church with Evangelist Luke Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Caney, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Caney. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday August 16, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel, Caney. The family has suggested memorials to the Tyro Christian Church or to Mercy Hospice. Contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney or at the Tyro Christian Church. Monroe Kendall Robertson was born September 19, 1931 in Nelogney, Oklahoma the son of James and Hannah Ellen Golden Robertson. He grew up in Nelogney and attended the Nelogney School System. On October 22, 1949 Kendall was united in marriage to Louella A. Burnett in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and the couple made their home in Caney and Tyro. Kendall and Louella were married for 62 years. Louella preceded him in death in December of 2011. Kendall was a machinist of Industrial Valves. He was a member of the Western Band Cherokee Tribe and Tyro Christian Church. He was President and Owner of the Arrow Valve Company in Caney. Survivors include two sons, Curtis wife Michele Robertson of Tyro, and Richard Roberta Robertson of Miami, Oklahoma two daughters, Cathey and husband Art Alani of Caney, and Sherry and husband Brad Stevens, rural Tyro Daughter in Law Debbie Robertson of rural Tyro 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Kendall was preceded in death by his wife Louella, son Darrel Robertson, grandson Chad Robertson, and a great granddaughter Lakota Robertson.
