Mildred L. Page, 68, of Longton, Kansas died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Celebration of life services will be May 3rd, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Longton, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel, Independence.
Mildred was born December 30, 1945 in Fort Scott, Kansas the daughter of Kenneth and Eileen Hillman Thurston. She grew up in Liberty, Missouri and graduated from the Liberty School System. She then attended the University of Missouri and received her Bachelors Degree she then attended Fort Hays University and received her Masters Degree in Special Education.
In August of 1963 in Liberty, Missouri Mildred was united in marriage to James L. Page they lived in Hutchinson, Kansas for fifteen years then moving to Longton, Kansas. James survives at the home.
Mildred was a teacher for the Wichita School System and retired after thirty years. She enjoyed her teaching career and working with children.
Survivors include James, her husband of the home, two daughters Julie L. Englebrecht of Longton, Ks., Janet E. Pinkerton of Kingman, Ks., two sons James K. Page of Kansas City, Mo., and Joseph C. Page of Denver, Colo., two brothers Kenneth Thurston of Kansas City, Mo., and John Thurston of Pittsburg, Mo., ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
