Merle Moore

Merle Chet Chester Moore, age 51, of San Antonio, Texas formerly of Caney, Kansas died Monday, July 18, 2011 at his home in San Antonio, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Havana Cemetery in Havana, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Merle Chet Chester Moore was born October 22, 1959 in Caney, Kansas to Claude and Nettie Dozier Moore. Chet grew up in Santa Anna, California and graduated from the Los Amigos High School in 1977. Chet also attended the Automotive Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. On January 28, 1985 Chet entered the United States Navy and served for 20 years until his retirement on January 31, 2005. During his service Chet received numerous medals including the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. Chet was a Broadcast engineering technician. Survivors include his father Claude Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma mother Nettie Moore of Shawnee, Oklahoma son Christopher Moore of San Diego, California daughter Malinda Taylor of 29 Palms, California 4 grandchildren three brothers Arthur Moore of Garden Grove, California, Frank Moore Wauconda, Illinois, Forrest Moore of Garden Grove, California one sister Le Etta Dukes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
