Maxine Conner

Maxine Lavon Conner, 86, passed away July 19, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Independence, Kansas. She was born October 26, 1922 in Cherryvale, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Nettie Day Brown. She was raised in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church. She was united in marriage to Rex Conner on July 27, 1942 in Washington D.C. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1982. Survivors include 2 sons: Rex Jr. and wife Karen Conner , and John and wife Dianna Conner both of Cherryvale, Kansas. She was preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Niswonger. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, at 10:00 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church of Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale, with the family receiving friends 6-7 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to Cherryvale Alumni Scholarship Fund.
