Mary Leona Silger 93 of Stillwater OK, formally of Independence KS, passed away Tuesday October 4th 2016 at the Renaissance Assisted Living Center in Stillwater OK, Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel in Independence KS,
Graveside services will be 11:00am Wednesday November 23rd 2016 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence KS,
Mary Leona (Porter) Silger was born May 10th 1923 the daughter of Frank S and Blanch (Massey) Porter in Neodesha KS, Mary attended school in Neodesha and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1940, on August 1940 Mary was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Silger in Independence KS, and they made their home Independence KS, for several years. Till Bob proceeded her in death and Mary moved to Stillwater OK, two years ago to live close to her son.
Mary was a member of the VFW ladies Aux. of Independence KS, and she loved to play Bingo at the VFW, Mary loved going to the Casinos and playing the slot machines, Mary also loved to crocheting, but most of all she loved spending time with her loving family.
Mary is survived by one daughter Patricia A Winton and husband Gary D of Temple Texas and one son Gary Michael Silger of Stillwater OK, and six Grand Children and ten Great Grand Children.
Mary is proceeded in death by her husband Bob and her parents and one sister Francis Daniels and five brothers Merle Porter, Harold Porter, Paul Porter, Lawrence Porter and Haskel Porter.
