Mary Anne Holeman, age 57, of Caney, Kansas died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caney, Kansas. Cremation will follow with burial at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas. Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel. Mary was born December 25, 1951 in Rosswell, New Mexico to John Stoney and Marie Weaver Howard. She grew up in a military family moving from Newfoundland, to Aurora, Colorado before graduating from Atchison High School in 1971. In May of 1971 Mary married Donald Lee Burge Jr. in Atchison, Kansas. The couple later
orced. In 1989 Mary married Norman Holeman in Caney, Kansas where they made their home. The couple owned and operated the Blue Funnel Cake Wagon. Norman preceded her in death in 2004. Mary worked for Central States Business Forms in Dewey, Oklahoma for over 15 years and also worked as a Home Health Care Provider at Windsor Place. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir and the Grief Support Group in Sedan, Kansas. Survivor include her father John Stoney Howard of Caney, Kansas; one son Donald Lee Burge III and wife Sarah of Clarksdale, Missouri; three daughters Mary Ruth Bambico of Dallas, Texas, Linda Beard of husband Dwight of Fredonia, Kansas and Julie Russell and husband Rusty of Independence, Kansas; two brothers James and wife Cari Howard of Nevada, Missouri and John and wife Willie Howard of Denver, Colorado; one sister Julia Stockover and husband Robert of Caney, Kansas; 13 Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister Paula Marie Schooley.
