Mary L. Ellis, 86, of Cherryvale died Monday at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday April 15, 2011 at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale, with Reverend Gerald Zuck of the New Hope Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2011 from Noon to 7:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm. Mary was born October 5, 1924 in Rural Liberty, the daughter of John H. and Laura P. Maxson VanCleave. She attended the Pleasant Valley School Systems. On September 20, 1940 Mary was united in marriage to Eugene Ellis and he preceded her in death. Mary owned and operated the Air Base Caf in Coffeyville for 12 years she was also employed at the H. D. Lee Company for 7 years she retired from Insto Impala Coleman Company after working 15 years as a line supervisor. Mary loved bells and had a large collection of different types of bells and enjoyed working in the her garden. Survivors are one son Eugene Ellis II of Cherryvale, Kansas, one sisters Audrey J. Switzer of Cherryvale, Kansas and Louise M Baker of Altamont, Kansas and one grandson and one great grandson.
