Mary Coble

Mary Margarett Coble, age 85, of Independence, Kansas died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Potts Chapel with Pastor Bob Weitzeil officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com. The family has suggested memorials to the AWOL and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
Mary Margarett Coble was born October 18, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Ernest and Frances (Smith) Stewart. She grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas and graduated from the Coffeyville High School. She also graduated from Coffeyville Community College and attended Pittsburg State University.
In 1952 Mary married Lloyd Coble in Coffeyville, Kansas the couple made their home in California and Kansas where Mary was a teacher before retiring from Tyro Christian School. Lloyd preceded her in death in 1992. Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Survivors include one daughter Roxey Smith of Independence, Kansas; one grandson Samuel Coble of Washington and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son Roger Coble.
