Mary Adams

Mary Louise Adams, age 84, passed away December 23, 2022, at Medicalodges in Independence. Mary was born February 8, 1938, in Independence to Bill Johnson and Viola Prather. She married Leonard Adams Sr. and they were married for 50 years before his death. The two made their home in Blue Rapids, Kansas before moving to Montgomery County.

Throughout Mary’s life she loved raising and breeding dogs, although her favorites will always be Pugs, Chows and chihuahua. The family will always remember favorite Aunt Mary for her cooking and baking, especially her homemade hot rolls.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Potts Chapel with a celebration of life to be held on January 4, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Old Fashion Baptist Church.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Adams Sr., son Leonard Adams Jr. and her parents Bill and Viola Prather.

Those left to carry on her memory are her daughters, Mary Hammer, Dorris Dunnavent, Brenda Gamel, and Son Frank Womacks, 18 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be left to the Old Fashion Baptist Church.

The family has entrusted final arrangements through Potts Chapel.
