Martha Jane Wood, born on January 26, 1954, in Garnett, Kansas, peacefully departed this life on December 16, 2024, at her home with family close by.

A cherished daughter of the late James and Maxine Sutton, Martha's life was a beacon of simplicity and warmth.

Martha devoted many years of her life to her career at the Montgomery County Appraiser's Office, where she began her journey as a data entry clerk and eventually rose to the role of office manager. Her work ethic and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues, and she made lasting memories during her tenure there. She was also a member of the Lone Cherry Church in Havana, Kansas.

Beyond her professional life, her at home life was spent loving on her dog Rocky. Rocky was not simply a pet to Martha; he was her constant companion, who brought her joy and laughter. An avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, Martha could often be found rooting for her team or enjoying wrestling on television, passions that spoke to her vibrant and spirited personality.

Martha is survived by daughters, Angel and Ashley and three grandchildren. She leaves behind her treasured siblings: Marilyn Roberts, Edna Bishop, Jim Sutton and his wife Mary, and Darla Robertson and her husband Jamie.

Martha's departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family and friends. While they mourn the loss of a simple woman, they find solace in the treasured memories and the profound impact she had on those around her. She will be remembered not only for her vibrant spirit but also for her unwavering gentle spirit.
