Martha Lou Headley,93, of Cherryvale passed away Friday at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Cherryvale, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday April 23, 2012 at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale, Kansas with the Reverend Susan Brown of the First United Methodist Church of Cherryvale officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery Cherryvale under the direction of the Potts Chapel Cherryvale. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p. m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel Cherryvale. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Cherryvale and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Martha was born April 12, 1919 in Parson, Kansas the daughter of Floyd and Hallie Jarvis Tarr. She grew up in Columbus, Kansas and attended the Columbus School Systems. On April 12, 1935 in Columbus, Kansas Martha Tarr was united in marriage to Kenneth Headley the couple made their home in Cherryvale until 1955 they then moved to Independence, Kansas in February 1999 Kenneth preceded her in death. Martha was a stay at home mother and she enjoyed playing the piano and organ for the First Baptist Church. She also loved to square dance. Martha was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter Diantha Hanson Cherryvale, Ks., two adopted daughters Nancy Hamilton, Coffeyville, Ks., and Jean Holley of Florence. Alabama, one brother James E. Tarr Columbus, Ks., two sisters Maxine Cook Columbus, Ks., June Wilcox Broken Arrow, Okla., three grand daughters and four great grand daughters
