Marjorie was the middle child of three children, born to William E. and Dora Mae (Anderson) Williams on February 15, 1933 in Sedan, Kansas. Marjorie graduated from Kansas State College of Pittsburg with her teaching certificate in 1969. She then earned her Master’s of Education from Pittsburg State University. Marjorie began her teaching career in Caney, Kansas, and then transferred to Independence where she taught first and second grade until her retirement. On August 10, 1952, Marjorie married Odie F. She was a faithful member of her church, loved to quilt, ride her horse, Malachi, go for walks, and put jig saw puzzles together. Most of all Marjorie loved to spend time with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dora Williams, husband, Odie F. Wilson, brother, Walter Edwin Williams, and sister, Billie Copeland.

Marjorie’s memory will live on with her daughter, Anne (John) O’Brien of Independence, son, William Jeffery Wilson of Wichita, sister, Helen Sebastian of Independence, grandchildren, Brandon Colyott of Joplin, and Breanna (Tyler) Nelson of Rose Hill, great grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Hill and Zane and Scarlett Nelson. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made in Marjorie’s name to the First Baptist Church. Memorials can be left with Potts Chapel.
