Marie Young

Marie Young, 67, of Caney, Kansas went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 20, 2015, from the Guest Home Estates, Caney.
Marie Annette Young was born December 22, 1947, in Independence, KS, the third of five children to Raymond G. Young, and Ethel M. (Farnsworth) Young, She grew up in Elk Falls, KS, attended schools there as well as Moline KS, graduating from Moline in 1965. In later years she attended college at Independence, KS.
During her working years she was employed at Rock-a-Chair and at McDonalds, both in Coffeyville, KS, Cessna Aircraft, Independence, KS, and retired from Casey's General Store, Caney.
Survivors blessed by her memory are her three children, son Ronald Burnett, Gooding, ID, daughter Yvonne Copeland, Bixby, OK, and son James (Sarah) Young, Niotaze, KS; sister Janie (Wayne) Blakemore of Tyro, KS, three brothers - Ron (Joyce) Derby, KS, Leroy 'Cotton' (Jeannette) Young, Leon, KS, Tom (Denise) Young, Savannah, GA; five grand children, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:00am, Saturday, March, 28, 2015, at the Assembly of God Church, Caney, with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel Funeral Home of Caney. Following the memorial service inurnment will take place at Elcado Cemetery, rural Peru, KS.
Friends may sign the register book at the Potts Chapel Funeral Home in Caney from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Online condolences can be shared at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Assembly of God Church in Caney, or to the donor's organization of choice in memory of Marie Young. Donations can be left with Potts Chapel in Caney.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all the prayers, visits, phone calls, acts of love and kindness during Marie's final months. God bless you all.
