Margaret Coon

Margaret O’Rinda Coon age 87, died October 3, 2022 at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas.

Margaret was born January 19, 1935 in Independence, Kansas to Norman Ray and Cynthia M. (Gross) Keath. She grew up in Elk City, Kansas and graduated from the Elk City High School in 1953. Margaret married Doyle Richard Daratt on January 17, 1954 and the couple later divorced. On March 17, 1977 Margaret married Marvin Dwayne Coon and the couple later divorced. Margaret worked from Boeing in Wichita, Kansas until she retired.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, three sons Steven Daratt, Michael Daratt, and Tim Daratt; one brother Norman “Leland” Keath; two sisters Marilyn Roark and Nancy Wellington.

Survivors include two grandsons Preston Blake Daratt and Dylan Michael Daratt; four great grandchildren; two sisters Marlene “Kay” Seller of Parsons, Kansas, Mary Ellen Woods of Independence, Kansas; two brothers William “Bill” Keath and wife Mary Helen of Emery, Texas and James “Jim” Keath and wife Janice of Fredonia, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Nazarene Church in Elk City, Kansas with the Pastor Terry Marta officiating.
