Margaret Boggs

Margaret “Margie” Boggs passed away at Medical Lodge in Wichita, Kansas on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Margie was born on April 25, 1929 in Viola, Kansas to Thomas and Nellie (Walsh) Edwards. The family moved from Viola, Kansas when Margie was 6 years old to Sycamore Valley, and then moved to Fresno California. She lived in Fresno for 30 years and then in 1990 she made her home in Independence. Margie was a retired meat cutter at the Safeway Grocery stores. She started working for Safeway in 1968 and retired in 1986. On January 1, 1978 she married Lawrence Lee Boggs, he passed away in January of 1981.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, son Robert "Bob" Wade, brothers, Claude, Clarence, Ralph, and Don Edwards and her parents.

Survivors include, grandson, Robert O’Connell, nephew Ron Edwards of Wichita, KS, niece, Cheryl Thompson of Coffeyville, KS, 2 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 10th at 1:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.
