Mamie Davis

Mamie Lee Davis, 80, of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed away on January 3, 2021 in Coffeyville, Kansas.  She was born on April 29, 1940 to Doner and Nannie (Johnson) Skaggs in Valles Mines, Missouri.

On October 3, 1959 Mamie married William Edward Davis at the Rouglly Church of God in Valles Mines Missouri.  In 1977 William and Mamie answered the call of the Lord to become ministers and pastored in several states:  New Mexico (Roswell), Missouri (DeSoto), Texas (Tomball), and Kansas (Coffeyville and Independence).  They also pastored for a short time in both Louisiana and Arkansas.  Besides loving her family, being a pastor's wife was the joy of her life. In retirement she attended the Independence COG and truly loved her pastor and church family.

During her life she worked at various jobs:  Daycare (Tomball, Texas), Amazon Distribution Center, and Airsol Manufacturing (Neodesha, Kansas).

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, William Davis, Siblings-Oscar Skaggs, George "Clint" Skaggs, Clarence Skaggs, Roscoe Skaggs, and Harold Ralph Skaggs (18 months old at death).  Brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws that she loved dearly.

She is survived by her children:  Angela (Darrell) King of Dearing, Kansas, William "Shawn" (Bobbie Jo) Davis of Altoona, Kansas , and Kelli (Greg) Strang of Coffeyville, Kansas, Grandchildren:  Samuel (Tiffany) King, Adam King, Shyanne (Christian) Post-Davis, Jordan Mason, Dayton (Bailey) Post Davis, Addison (Davin) Schmitt, Alan Strang, Dazie Strang, Cody Strang, Tenesee Strang, Marilynn Strang.  Great Grandchildren:  Lonnie Powell, Paizlee Rae Pearson, Merritt Pearson, Sophia Mason, Rowan King and Rory Jo Powell.  Siblings:  Raymond (Leona) Skaggs, Bonnie (Jimmie) Carmack, Hazel (Lindell) Gowen, John Paul (Bonnie) Skaggs.  Brother-inlaw Dennis (Glenda) Halbrook.

She loved every one of her nieces and nephew and all of their families.

A Graveside Service will be held at Hall Cemetery in French Village, Missouri on Thursday, January 7th at 1:00 PM. A memorial service for the Coffeyville area will be announced at a later date.
