Lynne Denise Lawrie, 56, of Independence died Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital, in Independence, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 100 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church with the Reverend John Wilson and Reverend Robert Montgomery Officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Independence.
Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday December 6, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Heart Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Lynne was born March 20, 1957 in Iola, Kansas the daughter of Doris Jean Cheney. She grew up in Humboldt, Kansas attending and graduating from the Humboldt School System. She then received her Associate Degree from the Allen County Community College in Iola, Kansas.
On February 18, 1984 Lynne was united in marriage to Darnell Lawrie and the couple made their home in Independence, Kansas, Darnell survives at the home.
Lynne worked as a Para Educator for Greenbush and Tri County at Project Alternative in Parsons, Kansas.
Survivors include her Husband Darnell Lawrie of the home. One son D.J. Lawrie of Independence, Ks. one daughter LaShon Lawrie and granddaughter Tionne Johnson of Independence, Ks., one brother Ricardo Herdon of Wichita, Ks., three sisters Deanette Cheney and Dana Dawn of Iola, Ks., and Karla Hutcherson of Vine Grove, Ky.
