Lynell Clubine

Lynell Nelly Corwin Clubine, age 86, of Havana, Kansas died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the Assembly of God Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas.

Lynell Nelly Corwin Clubine was born July 13, 1927 in Independence, Kansas to Clyde and Viola Romig Clubine. He grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended Riley School and then moved to rural Havana and attended Round Mound School and graduated from Havana High School.

Lynell then entered the United States Marines and served during the Korean War. Lynell played football for the United States Marines.

On May 22, 1949 Lynell married Dorothy Raymond in the Havana United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2006. Lynell worked at a gas station in Caney, Kansas and was a plumber before going to work for Phillips Petroleum for 20 years retiring in 1985. Nelly then started farming. He was a member of the Caney American Legion, and the Havana United Methodist Church and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his son Kevin and wife Gina Clubine of Havana, Kansas two grandchildren Tyler and Trenton Clubine both of Havana. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and two brothers.
