Louis Jabben

February 8, 1926 — November 19, 2014

Louis Otto Jabben, age 88, passed away November 19, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Pittsburg, Kansas after a lingering illness. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel.

Private family graveside services are planned for a later date. Louis was born February 8, 1926 the oldest of 13 children of Carl and Theda Hinrich Jabben.

He attended Springdale Rural School and Zion Lutheran School in Independence, Kansas. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1954 serving part time in Germany and was Honorable discharged in 1956 after his Military Service. He attended the University of Kansas and graduated in 1961.

Louis was employed by the Boeing Co. and Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita Kansas until he retired. He was an avid reader, gardener, and his hobby was repairing bicycles. Louis was a long time member of the Seventh Adventist Church in Wichita.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Hilda Fisher and Helen Wright and his brother Herbert Jabben. He is survived by Wilma Squire, Midland Tx., Lydia Wells, Las Cruses, NM. Mary Robinson, Parsons, Ks and Ellie Culp and Carolyn Sullivan of Independence, Ks Evelyn Clover of Sycamore, Ks, Marilyn Kemp, Neodesha, Ks and a brother Carl Jabben of Wichita,Ks.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
