Louella Dunham

Louella Ann Dunham, age 71, of Blackwell, Oklahoma formerly of Independence, Kansas died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas with the Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Louella was born October 14, 1938 in Independence, Kansas to Cecil and Myrtle Wall Ellis. She grew up in the Independence area and attended the Independence School System. On November 11, 1960 Louella married William Dunham in Miami, Oklahoma, the couple made their home in Wichita, Kansas. In 1974 the couple moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma and lived in Blackwell, Oklahoma for 16 years befor the couple bought a farm just south of Elk City, Kansas. In 2001 the couple moved to Independence, Kansas. William preceded her in death in 2003. In August of 2009 Louella moved to back to Blackwell, Oklahoma. Louella was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. Survivors include two daughters Lori and husband Mark Meador of Blackwell, Oklahoma Donna and husband Jay Garrett of Owasso, Oklahoma one brother Jimmy Ellis of Coffeyville, Kansas six grandchildren Marlee Elizabeth Meador, Megan Ann Meador, Michael James Meador, Delaney Marie Garrett, Carson William Garrett, and Ella Grace Garrett.
