Lorene Bessie Bush, age 94, of Caney, Kansas died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Guest Home Estates in Caney, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Dearing Christian Church with Jared Ellis and Dustin Rau officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Dearing Christian Church, First Baptist Church in Caney or the Bluestem Baptist Church in Dewey, Oklahoma and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Lorene Bessie Bush was born March 26, 1918 in rural Loyal, Oklahoma to Benjamin and Gerdie Glenn Betts. Lorene grew up in rural Loyal, Oklahoma before moving to rural Caney, Kansas where she graduated from the Caney High School in 1936. On May 29, 1937 Lorene married Claude Monroe Bush in Independence, Kansas the couple made their home in rural Caney, Kansas. Claude preceded her in death on June 10, 1985. Lorene worked at Spears Laundromat, Caney Glass Plant, Ammunition Box Plant, Electra and also owned and operated B B Caf in Caney, Kansas. Lorene attended the Tyro Christian Church and later the First Baptist Church in Caney, Kansas. Survivors include two sons Dean and wife Barbara Bush of Tyro, Kansas, Gene and wife Janice Bush of Tyro, Kansas one daughter Sandra Barnes of Caney, Kansas one brother Melvin Betts of Tyro, Kansas Grandchildren Teresa and husband Aaron Rau of Caney, Kansas, Gregg and wife Barbara Bush of Caney, Kansas, Bradley and Traci Bush of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Cheryl and husband Rick Wilson of Tyro, Kansas, Garry and wife Jana Bush of Rural Caney, Kansas, Michael and wife Cathy Bush of Havana, Kansas, Lisa and husband Bill Ellis of Caney, Kansas and Monte Boulanger of Bentonville, Arkansas 22 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
