Lois Shepard

Lois Jean Shepard, age 76, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Lois was born at Jefferson, Kansas September 3, 1935. She was daughter of Merlvin E. Grabham, and Eunice E. DeTar Grabham of Independence, Kansas. Lois grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended schools in Independence. On December 21, 1953 Lois married Hershel Joe Shepard in Independence, Kansas from that marriage 8 children were born. Lois worked several years at the Cherryvale Nursing Home as a CNA CMA. Survivors include two sons Steven Shepard of Cherryvale, Kansas and Keith Shepard of Independence, Kansas three daughters Pamela Scott Cheryl Burdett both of Independence, Kansas and Doris Dooley of Georgia one sister Lorena Mae Yeubanks of Coffeyville, Kansas two brothers Jerald Grabham of Independence, Kansas and Gary Lynn Grabham of Big Cabin, Oklahoma 12 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and three children Neva Jean Shepard, Hershel Joe Shepard Jr. and Wesley James Shepard. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Fairview Cemetery with the Reverend Willie Jones officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.
