Lois N. Passauer, 93, of Independence, Kansas died Monday December 9, 2013 at the Eagle Estates in Independence, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Potts Chapel, Independence with Chaplin Mike Graham of the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Coffeyville, Kansas officiating.
Burial will follow at a later time in the Havana Cemetery in Havana, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Coffeyville, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Lois was born October 20, 1920 in Benedict, Kansas the daughter of George W. and Nora Dice Dannels. She grew up in Havana, Kansas and attended the Havana School System.
In 1938 Lois was united in marriage to Junior Passauer and the couple made their home in Independence, Junior preceded Lois in death.
Lois owned and operated the Santa Fe Restaurant as well as the Mission Pool Hall in Independence, Kansas. She also worked for the State of Kansas as a Home Health Care Giver.
She was a member of the Independence Bowling League and the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include one daughter Delores Boorigie of Independence, Ks, four sons Gary Passauer of Hasting, Minn., Chet Passauer, Tom Passauer, Jeff Passauer all of Independence, Ks., eleven grand children nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Passauer.
