Lloyd Sullivan

L. Wayne Sullivan, age 59, of Naples, Florida, and formerly of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday February 7, 2009 at the Mount Hope Cemetery with the Pastor Terry Hatfield officiating. The family has suggested memorials to the American Heart Association or the Shriners' Childrens Hospital and may be left at the Potts Chapel. Wayne was born January 4, 1950 in Nevada, Missouri, to Lloyd L. and Laura Covey Sullivan. His family moved to Independence, Kansas in November 1952. Wayne graduated from Indpendence High School in 1968 and attended Independence Community College. At age 19 Wayne began working in real estate sales and in the early 1970's, he built the Heritage Building now the Independence Chamber of Commerce Building, and started his own real estate company, which he later named Midwest Realty. Wayne owned Midwest Realty from 1976 to 2004. In 1991 Wayne married Susan DeFever Clubine in Naples, Florida, and she survives of the home. The couple made their home in Independence, returning to Naples, Florida, in 2003. In addition to his wife Susan, Wayne is survived by his mother Laura Sullivan, Independence, kansas a brother, Michael Sullivan and wife Cindi, Independence, Kansas and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Sullivan.
