Lloyd Phillip Quisenberry JR., 85, of Independence died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at his home. Celebration Of Life Services will be Monday December 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First Southern Baptist Church of Independence with Pastor Claudia Alford Officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence under the direction of Potts Chapel . Visitation will be Sunday December 5, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Memorial has be established for the First Southern Baptist church which may be left at the church or Potts Chapel. Lloyd was born October 25, 1925 in Foul ton, Missouri, the son of Lloyd and Marry Rubio Ouisenberry Sr. He graduated from the Foul ton High School. On January 12, 1944 Lloyd joined the United States Navy he served in the Pacific Theatre during World War ll attaining the rank of Seaman First Class and was Honorable discharged. Lloyd was a life Member of the Veterans Foreign Wars Post 1186. On June 24, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Thorp in Kansas City, Kansas she survives at the home. Lloyd worked and retired from the Jayhawk Distribution Center of Independence. Survivors are his wife Dorothy of the home, two sons Bert Loren Quisenberry and James Phillip Quisenberry of Independence, and one daughter Diane Isham of Tyler, Texas, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
