Linda Vanburen

Linda Diane VanBuren, age 53, of Independence, Kansas died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Potts Chapel. Linda was born June 2, 1959 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Frank Leroy and Marcella Ruth Spears Long. She grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas attended schools in Coffeyville. Linda also graduated from Independence Community College. In 1974 Linda married Raymond Dale Arnold in Independence, Kansas where the couple made their home. Raymond preceded her in death in 1995. Linda worked at Dollar General before managing the drive thru at Arbys for nine years and also worked at McDonalds. In July of 1995 Linda married Michael VanBuren in Miami, Oklahoma and he survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons Anthony Arnold of Ottawa, Kansas and Raymond Arnold of Independence, Kansas two daughters Jessica Medsker of Independence, Kansas and Angela Fairbanks of Independence, Kansas two brothers Frank Long of Independence, Kansas and Brian Long of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma one sister Carolyn Fine of Oregon and 9 grandchildren Courtney Dixon, Caleb Jackson, Alexis Dixon, Jacob Jackson, D.J. Willits, Daisy Willits, Crista Grammer, Dreya Grammer and Bryson Medsker.
