Linda Sue (Bailey) Spalding

Linda Sue Spalding, age 67 of Independence Kansas, died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her home in Independence, Kansas. Cremation will take place and a memorial gathering will be announced at a later date due to health safety concerns’ of Covid19.  Potts Chapel will be handling arrangements.

Linda was born in Independence KS on October 30, 1953, daughter of Francis and Donna Marie (Troester) Bailey. Where she grew up and attended school there and later obtained her cosmetology license. While working at Emerson Electric, Linda met Her husband Charles A. Spalding III (Tony) at a spontaneous girl’s night out at Teds Club in Independence and on December 22, 1990 they were married at Community Christian Church and have lived 30 years of love and friendship together.

After their marriage Linda went to Fort Scott Truck Driving Collage and graduated to become a truck driver with her husband Tony. After that adventure she worked a few years at Western Publishing and Catalytic Industrial Group (Bruest) and then in the Deli at Wal-Mart, completing her career at G&W Foods Deli.

Linda loved camping and fishing for relaxing and being avid motorcyclist loved riding her Harley and afterwards going home to sit out and watch her cardinals eating at her bird feeder.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Bailey and Donna Marie. She is survived by her husband Charles A (Tony) Spalding III , Michael T Mitchell (Son), Lloyd Bailey (Brother), John Spalding (Brother),  Scott Britain (Brother), Don Britain (Brother), Linda Kirchoff (Sister), Kathleen Brandon (Sister), Mary Batye (Sister), Sandy Michael (Sister), and many  nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own. She will always be loved and missed.
